The
Broughton War Memorial Institute Hall

___________________

The Broughton War Memorial Institute (“BWMI”) was originally established as a memorial to the village's First World War fallen, in the absence of a Cenotaph or other memorial.

It was utilised for the local school, had cricket slips, tennis courts and a playground with swings etc, then a snooker room wing was added – which nowadays is the dance studio.

The Memorial Hall was provided by Gladstone Estates to be used by the residents of Broughton village for community and recreational events. It is administered for the local communities benefit by the volunteer Trustees. The Freehold was gifted to the Trustees in 1924.
